Oradian and ANMFIN launch new cloud-based microfinance solution in Nigeria

As part of their shared mission to boost financial inclusion throughout Nigeria, Oradian and the Association of Non Bank Microfinance Institution of Nigeria (ANMFIN) have launched a strategic partnership. Princess Adesola Ogunleye, the President of ANMFIN, commented on the partnership saying, “We are extremely pleased to partner with Oradian. Together we align our shared vision and leverage the success delivered to date. The partnership will enable all of our MFIs to move to Oradian’s cloud-based solution, helping our members to save time and money through more efficient, digitised processes – no more manual input of data. We and our members are very excited to improve administrative process, reduce high operational costs and offer digital financial services across the country.”

The Nigeria Inclusive Finance conference and launch of the Farmer to Finance conference

It is with great pleasure that I stand before you today to deliver this Goodwill message to this augst gathering of the Nigeria Inclusive Finance Conference and Launching of the Farmer-To-Finance Funds for promoting improve access to financing of Agribusiness through the Microfinance Institutions (MFIs). I want to commend the Association of Non-Bank Microfinance Institutions of Nigeria (ANMFIN) for organising this event which is happening at a very auspicious time when the focus of the Federal Government is gravitating towards promoting agriculture as a business away from treating it as a  developmental project.

Making finance work for small holders farmers: input, impact & implications by Titi Yakubu, Excutive Director (DEC)

Agriculture is the major economic activity and employs the majority of the people in low income countries. Globally, three quarter of the world’s poor that live in rural areas 80% of them depend on agriculture as their main source of income (IFC2011). They play a vital role in increasing food supplies. Despite the contributions of the smaller holder farmers, they tend to have little or no access to formal credits which limits their capacities to invest in the technologies and inputs they need to increase their yields and income and reduce poverty.

I count it all a great honour and privilege to be a part of this memorable occasion. I want to first of all start by giving glory to the Almighty God for making this event a memorable one. As we close this innovative conference today, on behalf of myself and [ASSOCIATION OF NON-BANK MFI (ANMFIN)], and the entire supporting/sponsoring Organizations, Special Guests in the audience, I say a big thank you.I also want to use this opportunity to thank Mr Olukayode Pitan (M.D Bank of Industry) Representing The Vice President of Nigeria and Representatives of The Central Bank of Nigeria (Development Finance Department & Research Department), our most valued invited guests, ladies and gentlemen.

As you may be aware the objective of this year’s conference seek to achieve the creation of wider opportunities for microfinance to engage with concerns stakeholders in finding ways to  of providing a broader platform for the rural poor to engage in new ways to accelerate economic activities in Nigeria. It is no longer news that as network of Non-bank Microfinance Institution in Nigeria, our members operate in every hamlet of our great country. Therefore, we are confronted with stack realities of what it means to ache out a living by the people we serve.

In the midst of my joy, you will agree with me that it is expedient to appreciate the almighty God who granted our distinguished members, guests and participants a safe and successful journey from their respective places of abode to be part of this national search for solutions to family farmers lingering inadequate access to finance. First and foremost, let me warmly appreciate the board of trustee of our great Association, ANMFIN for their continued support and direction especially during the transition period of our Association.
